Research shows that up to 70% of employees regularly experience crippling "imposter feelings". This is the persistent doubt in one’s abilities despite clear successes and the fear of being exposed as a fraud. These feelings affect not only young professionals but also experienced employees and managers. Imposter syndrome is rarely discussed at work.

A core part of imposter syndrome is the shame that comes with uncertainty. This deepens feelings of isolation. It can also increase anxiety and depression and lower job satisfaction.
